how much is a penis worth?

Just how much is a penis worth?  and WHY ????

If you have a problem with the book, stats and video below, you just might have some insidious misogyny cleverly disguised as I don’t know, I am an open minded modern guy or I like women but…

It is not as though men and boys are not bullied and/or abused but the difference in the stats is significantly higher for women being abused. You can say oh not all men or boys all you want but there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE.  Try becoming a female for a week or a month or a year and get back to me…

One guy complained that men and women get bullied and that women can wear anything they want to at work but boo hoo poor men have to wear ties, jackets and shirts to work EVERY SINGLE DAY… oh my goodness…

1. well, dear boy, I for ONE would gladly exchange wearing ties, jackets and shirts to work every day if it meant that I would receive the $400,000 (average) pay that YOU have received over your professional lifetime that I HAVE BEEN DENIED DUE TO THE WAGE GAP. (which also means that my Social Security is less than yours, maybe even half). And women live longer so we have to make do with less for longer.

As i was leaving one job, I found out, going through files, that the guy who had had my job before me was younger, less experience, less skill and yet, HE WAS PAID $5 MORE PER HOUR THAN I WAS. The Only thing that HE HAD THAT I DID NOT THAT I COULD SEE/READ WAS HE HAD A PENIS AND I DID NOT.

And when I became INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR SIX MONTHS, did I receive the same salary as the Executive Director before me? Oh no, not even a raise in pay so his salary of $38K and mine was $25K.  He had a penis, too.

As Editor of a newspaper, I worked TWO JOBS for the price of one although I doubled the size of the newspaper in six months by increasing the advertising sales, and made many needed improvements and changes. When I asked for a raise and promotion, it was denied.

I could go on and on and on.

“Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them.”

Margaret Atwood

2. Now here is another statistic, I am sure that we women would gladly relinquish… The No. 2 cause of death in the U.S. (for) women under 50 is being killed by their spouse or domestic partner. No. 2 cause of death.”

Domestic violence is a major cause of death for all women.

Over half of the killings of American women are related to intimate partner violence, with the vast majority of the victims dying at the hands of a current or former romantic partner, according to a new report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Between 960,000 and 3,000,000 incidents of domestic violence are reported each year, while many other incidents go unreported.

Violence against women and girls is a problem of pandemic proportions. At least one out of every three women around the world has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime with the abuser usually someone known to her.

Ten states with the highest rate of females murdered by males were, as of 2010, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Virginia, Texas, New Mexico, Hawaii, Arizona, Georgia.

3. How many guys pay more for their health insurance than women do AND how many guys are under attack and having health care constantly being taken away from them like women??? how many men are told that fertilized eggs are people but they are not?

4. Did you know that there are 40 million modern slaves and 71% of them are female? (according to the Global Slavery Index)

5.  Invisible Women

Data fails to take into account gender, because it treats men as the default and women as atypical, bias and discrimination are baked into our systems. And women pay tremendous costs for this bias, in time, money, and often with their lives.

Caroline Criado Perez investigates the shocking root cause of gender inequality and research in Invisible Women, diving into women’s lives at home, the workplace, the public square, the doctor’s office, and more.

6.  How many men work 2-3 jobs without pay (child care, house work, caring for other family members plus their regular job?

7.   Yeah it sure is scary time for guys….

Housing is Health Care

The right wing media, pundits and politicians love to demonize people of color, uppity women aka feminists, Democrats aka progressives, liberals, socialists, poor people, Jewish people, Muslims, Mexicans, people without homes and those pesky invasions or hordes/caravans at the border. In other words, anyone who is not rich, white, male and fake Christian.

People without homes have been made into criminals because they don’t have homes. Because they have been priced out of living where they used to be able to live. Their rents have increased while their wages have not. And for elderly people who are 50% of those without homes, their Social Security checks would cover rent easily if this were 1975 when rents in LA were $150-200 a month but it is 2019 where rents are $1,500-3,500 a month. Everyone knows that homeless people are either mentally ill, drug or alcohol abusers, lazy, good for nothings who want to live on the streets and don’t want to work and pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Yet, these are a minority and the rise in elderly homelessness and homelessness in general is due to rising housing costs and stagnating wages.

One recent study of homeless seniors in Oakland by Margot Kushel, a doctor and professor of medicine at UC San Francisco, reported that 44 percent of homeless adults experienced their first bout of homelessness after age 50. In a presentation last November, Kushel reported that California only has 21 units of affordable housing for every 100 extremely low-income households.

Housing is healthcare

For the last two years, the University of Illinois has been trying an unconventional treatment for homeless “super-user” patients at emergency rooms: it finds them a place to live.

The medical costs for homeless patients at a Chicago hospital can be 70 times higher than for other patients. Not 17. Seventy times higher. Many people have chronic medical problems, but homeless patients often end up in the emergency room simply because they want to get off the street. So one hospital is trying to treat those patients not with medicine, but by paying their rent. WBEZ’s Miles Bryan reports.

Baker’s housing has been paid for by the University of Illinois Hospital and a federal housing grant since May of 2016. He was one of 26 homeless patients often called ER super users the hospital placed in the housing. Baker, who suffers from asthma and high blood pressure among other things, says his health has gotten much better since he got a place to live.

Stephen Brown runs the housing project at the hospital. He says fully half of the hospital’s ER super users are homeless. Just one night in the hospital can run three grand. Now the hospital pays a thousand bucks a month to house them. Brown says those in the hospital’s pilot housing project have seen their health improve. And after crunching the numbers, monthly medical costs for their care are down significantly.

BROWN: If we went to every hospital and said we want you to pay for the housing for 10 chronically homeless individuals, that would cost them about $120,000 a year. In doing so we would reduce the number of chronically homeless here by a third. That’s major impact.

A number of other hospitals here are launching similar programs to house homeless patients. Even the city is putting money towards the idea. And Chicago isn’t alone. Robert Friant is with the Corporation for Supportive Housing, a national nonprofit organization that advises hospitals on how to set up this kind of housing program.

ROBERT FRIANT: Almost all of the states where we’re active, and we’re active in 48 states, health systems are now investing in some way so that they can help people who need rental assistance.

BRYAN: Friant points to big investments by hospitals in Portland, Ore., and Orlando. His group estimates that nationwide hospitals have already invested about a hundred-million dollars in housing. Friant says for hospitals it’s a win-win benefiting both patient health and saving money.

FRIANT: When you look at the studies across the board, you’re looking at about a 50 percent drop in emergency room use. That’s not a minor savings. That’s a huge savings for these hospital systems.

https://www.npr.org/2018/01/30/581778796/er-use-goes-down-as-hospital-program-pays-homeless-peoples-rent?utm_campaign=storyshare&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social?utm_campaign=storyshare&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social

Meanwhile, too many people are dying on the streets and in cars and either you are a person who wants to SOLVE problems or you are someone who is happy to ignore or profit off of the problems (NIMBY) other people’s problem not mine. Or you like pretend/fake solutions that are nothing but PR fluff for those who don’t want to solve the problem.

And you don’t have to change the system or buck the 1%. After all, this is America and we like the idea of billionaires and millionaires because some day (day between Sunday and Monday), we are going to become one. We tend to ignore those who cheat, steal, hoard money, collect billions in corporate welfare/subsidies, refuse to pay their fair share of taxes, raise rents and refuse to pay livable wages, actually prefer forced labor and receive lenient sentences for their crimes. Except when scandals erupt like the one where rich people bribed their children’s way into the top colleges.

“For some parents, getting a kid into a good school — even if they have to break the rules to do so — may function as a kind of proof that their wealth and social status are well-deserved.

“…(Lori) Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky on the show Full House, and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, paid $500,000 to Singer and $50,000 to a USC official to get one of their daughters into the California school, according to the indictments. They did so by claiming the teen was a crew coxswain, even staging a photograph in which she poses with a rowing machine.”

“…College isn’t just about getting a job, Piff explained. It’s also about social standing.

“Money is but a small part” of class and privilege in America, he said. “Another big part of that is belonging to the right clubs, knowing the right things to do when you go to a restaurant, knowing the right kinds of restaurants to go to, having read the right kinds of books.”

“…in addition to taking up spots that could be filled by students who worked hard for them, the practice of gaming the system to get your kids into college may reinforce some of Americans’ most deeply held misconceptions about wealth and social standing, experts say.

“The idea that wealthy people have all worked for and deserve their wealth is “a sacred value in this country,” Piff said.

“That’s kind of baked into the American dream,” he explained — and if we believe that rich people earned all their money, we’re more likely to put up with a big gap between rich and poor.”

https://www.vox.com/2019/3/15/18264399/college-admissions-scandal-lori-loughlin-cheating-huffman

We believe that the rich deserve their wealth and the rest of us are slackers. The upper class are to be emulated, idolized and/or are our role models. Hence, we have criminals in power and elected to office who perpetuate the lies that they have lived since they were born with silver spoons in their mouths. Many wealthy people were born into families with money and inherited their abundance of riches. Yet the myth is that some day (day between Sunday and Monday) you too can become a millionaire. Yes, this DOES happen and it is a carrot that is dangled in front of us that keeps too many hard working people enslaved in a rigged system. A rigged system that is against us.

A word about capitalism. I don’t think capitalism itself is wrong. And I Do think the way it has been abused is criminal. In college, (I worked six jobs to put myself through to get my BA degree with NO support from anyone), my professors (hippie throwbacks) taught us about hegemony. And one of the required reading books was Captains of Consciousness. The book discusses how television was utilized as a technology after it was created. It could have been used in a variety of ways. But it was consciously used to create a working class of consumers and buyers of products. A place where those who had the means could market their products.

I am a third generation American, middle class all of my life. Yet many of us Baby Boomers are being told it is our own fault that we have become nouveau poor after age 50.

Check your premises at the door. Rethink America. We must take our power back from these outdated, antiquated and just plain wrong myths about our country, wealthy people and capitalism.

Women Are Winning the Gender Wars

It is Women’s History month…  we are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.

I am not going to smile, sit down and shut up, be ignored, insulted, harassed, denigrated, mocked, disregarded, silenced or left out and neither are a majority of the women in America and around the world.

I regress for a moment. I grew up in Queens, New York. When I was 11 years old, my aunt gave me a pair of gold lame pants. I thought that they made me look grown-up so I wore them to show off on my next visit to my grandparents in the Bronx (Yonkers). As I walked up the Grand Concourse, a group of Puerto Rican boys spotted me. They stared, whistled, and called me names I did not understand. Did I mention that I was 11 years old. Ok, it was not exactly the scene in West Side Story with Anita being mauled by the Jets at Doc’s diner. But i was pretty, cute and had developed young. I already had breasts. This was my first experience of being street harassed for having a female body.

At work at age 18, I was considered a pretty face in the typing/secretarial pool at ABC. No one seemed interested in my brains or creativity. Many experiences with boys and men escalated into my 20’s…one landlord i had never looked at my face or into my eyes, only stared at my chest. Other women have similar stories.

Women have been left out of the conversation far too long and we are not putting up with it anymore…ignore us, ridicule us, threaten us at your peril

Yes, A President CAN BE INDICTED

It is absurd that I just read an article discussing the controversial topic of whether a sitting President can be indicted. The author gave 12 important points on the subject of yes, a President can be indicted. HOWEVER, he just happened to cite ONLY men on the subject and left out what Rachel Maddow discussed on the topic. She outlined how the DOJ policy came into being. How could he leave out the context for the policy?

Maddow thoroughly explained the crucial context in which the DOJ policy on Indicting a President (the weak basis for the policy) which was based on a memo written in 1973 related to Spiro Agnew. She informed how Agnew was a crook who was running a criminal scheme from inside the White House when he was VP.  He was literally taking cash bribes inside the Oval Office. Attorney General Elliot Richardson knew what Agnew was doing and if Agnew were to replace Nixon / Watergate, an active criminal would become President.  But it wasn’t clear to him whether he could bring charges against Agnew, wasn’t sure if it was legal. Agnew’s lawyers were loudly proclaiming that you could not. They were saying that Agnew was immune from prosecution simply because he was VP. It became Robert Dixon’s job what the DOJ’s policy would be on this. Dixon had been a law professor before becoming the head of OLC. There was a 40 count criminal indictment against the VP ready to be served up at any time. Was he immune? Could that indictment be filed against him? Dixon’s answer has been used for decades now to support that a President cannot be indicted. She played an interview she had done in a podcast called Bagman with a man named JT Smith who was there at the time.

She also cited a tweet by former Attorney General Eric Holder:

“The Constitution does not anticipate allowing a president who obtained the office by fraud to remain in power.”

WOMEN RULE

Women’s voices are an important part of the equation and since we are the MAJORITY of voters and citizens, people just might want to wake up and LISTEN TO US.

D0qlVcYX0AEISvM

Nancy Pelosi on the cover of @RollingStone is worth millions of dreams to women and girls across America.

She said: “Show your power. Know your worth. Have a plan. And be ready.” #WomensHistoryMonth

While we are on the topic, the way women political candidates for President are being manhandled by the media and GOP in absurd ways is insulting.

Too young. Too old.

Too pretty. Too ugly.

Too skinny. Too fat.

Too qualified. Unqualified.

Too much experience. Inexperienced.

Too warm with audience. Cold hard bitch.

Politico article seems like an Onion headline—Kamala Harris is connecting too well with voters? Eric Boehlert asked on twitter.

Why do news outlets still judge women for BEING WOMEN? (as if we are NOT HUMAN BEINGS, as if we are abnormal, not men).

Really, does being born with a penis qualify boys/men for ANYTHING?

Most of the print media seems fixated, obsessed and terrified of a woman becoming president

No man gets treated like women.

Maybe we are ALL Too Woman. Too Bad. Grow UP.

Then there are the GOP/Trump and his toxic masculine cult fans STILL chanting “Lock her up.” Their response to the Michael Cohen hearing has also been absurd. Someone on twitter pointed out that:

Democrats: We are concerned that the President may have committed treason, bank fraud, tax fraud, charity fraud, laundered money for Russian mobsters and committed campaign finance violations.

Republicans: We are worried that Michael Cohen may get a book deal.

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez showed both Democrats and Republicans how to question a witness at the hearing.

The GOP also are spewing lies about the new 100+ women in Congress accusing Alexandria Ocasio Cortez of everything from dancing, being a witch, a socialist to not being white or rich enough or too poor (basically). And let’s not forget how she and the other Democrats are going to take away your cows aka hamburgers (MOOOOOO).

Here’s what Lawrence O’Donnell pointed out about the GOP and Socialism:

https://www.msnbc.com/the-last-word/watch/lawrence-s-last-word-trump-s-golf-socialism-1450940483793?cid=sm_npd_ms_tw_ma

The attacks from Trump and the GOP about abortion, making up lies about Democratic women killing babies is DANGEROUS AND CAN GET PEOPLE KILLED OR INJURED. And the projection and hypocrisy is just insane. The so-called pro-lifers are the ones who want to make abortions unsafe and illegal, limit access to birth control and health care for women and next thing you know they will want to strip women of the right to vote.

The sexually assaulted victims of Jeffrey Epstein, Robert Kraft, and Donald Trump (and other powerful men) have been silenced far too long in the age of the #MeToo movement

“The fact that Epstein is free today is a reminder that the American justice system has long been all too willing to ignore the words of girls and women, especially when they accuse a wealthy and influential man. It’s a reminder that those with enough money and connections, from Epstein to Harvey Weinstein, can often manipulate the legal system to serve their own ends.”

https://www.vox.com/2018/12/3/18116351/jeffrey-epstein-trump-clinton-labor-secretary-acosta

Miami Herald reporter Julie K. Brown has been doing a fantastic job covering this.

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/state/florida/article226577419.html

How primarily white male billionaires have been getting away far too long with all sorts of crimes including sexually assault, abuse and trafficking women is discussed brilliantly by Will Bunch in response to the recent arrests and shutdowns of massage parlors in Florida.

EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT

Alyssa Milano, Gloria Steinem and other powerful women have pointed out that women have been left out of the Constitution and we needed to be INCLUDED with the Equal Rights Amendment. One state stands in the way of the ERA getting passed.

initially a movement to pass legislation for women’s equality, the pro-Equal Rights Amendment movement in the 1960s soon came to represent much more. Watch ‘This Happened: On Account of Sex’ with at 9 p.m. ET on .

It has been a man’s world, where it seems that women have been left out of everything according to author of the book Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez.

“Imagine a world where your phone is too big for your hand, where your doctor prescribes a drug that is wrong for your body, where in a car accident you are 47% more likely to be seriously injured, where every week the countless hours of work you do are not recognised or valued. If any of this sounds familiar, chances are that you’re a woman.

Invisible Women shows us how, in a world largely built for and by men, we are systematically ignoring half the population. It exposes the gender data gap – a gap in our knowledge that is at the root of perpetual, systemic discrimination against women, and that has created a pervasive but invisible bias with a profound effect on women’s lives.

Perez brings together an impressive range of case studies, stories and new research from across the world that illustrate the hidden ways in which women are forgotten, and the impact this has on their health and well-being. From government policy and medical research, to technology, workplaces, urban planning and the media, Invisible Women reveals the biased data that excludes women.”

Some stats:

In all but TWO states it is legal to marry a child under 18 years, why because we have to service and satisfy the needs of pedophiles ?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/unicefusa/2018/10/29/what-you-need-to-know-about-child-marriage-in-the-us-1/#41ae11825689

71% of the 40 million modern slaves around the world are girls and women.

https://www.theguardian.com/news/2019/feb/25/modern-slavery-trafficking-persons-one-in-200?CMP=twt_gu

1 in 3 women are sexually assaulted and harassed. Most women do NOT report rapes and sexual harassment due to receiving harsh criticism, blamed for being attacked and death threats like Dr. Christine Blasey-Ford received.

50% of women without homes do not have shelter due to domestic violence/abuse and more women are killed due to their intimate partner/relationship …

Elderly women without homes… 50% of those without homes are 50+ and this affects women more than men due to the wage gap, smaller Social Security checks, living longer than men and other reasons. Women and men are dying in cars and on the streets of the USA and elderly homelessness is rising. Housing IS Health Care and some are recognizing this.

https://www.usich.gov/news/what-about-maria-we-need-a-federal-plan-more-focused-on-homelessness-among-older-adults/#.XHavipLlQNk.twitter

So guess what little boy men, the war of the sexes is OVER AND WE WOMEN ARE WINNING.  GROW UP AND JOIN US OR BE LEFT BEHIND.

Gaslighting Americans

Malignant Narcissist

Malignant narcissism is a combo of 4 traits, includes narcissism, paranoia, antisocial personality disorder (the psychology of a criminal & someone who routinely lies) & sadism.

Sadist aspects of Trump’s apparent mental illness: “he is driven & gets intense pleasure from harming, humiliating, & degrading other people.” Trump is suffering from a very dangerous form of mental illness, illness that is identical to that suffered by Hitler, Mussolini & Stalin

What about Putin, Kim Jong Un and MBS?

He is reveling in the chaos & destruction he is causing,” Gartner explained. “The more he feels threatened by the Mueller investigation, the more he needs to experience the exaltation of feeling drunk with power, thru his ability to harm and humiliate and degrade other people.”

Trump is demonizing immigrants similarly to how Hitler demonized Jews. He explained how Hitler not only demonized Jewish people but he made them “powerfully evil”, by creating a narrative for his followers that implied that “unless they are destroyed, we will be destroyed”.

His Family background

His grandfather was an illegal immigrant, draft dodger, who made millions of dollars running a house of ill repute…

His father gave Donald $412 million dollars. Donald bankrupted every business and his father had to bail him out over and over and over again. His father also taught him how to skirt the law, avoid paying workers and taxes, and other shady business practices.  No bank in America would loan Donald anymore money so he turned to the Russians, Saudis and others for loans.

“I personally witnessed the Plaintiff being forced to perform various sexual acts with Donald J. Trump and Mr. Epstein. Both Mr. Trump and Mr. Epstein were advised that she was 13 years old.” — Tiffany Doe Now you know why Alex Acosta is the Labor Secretary!

Two cases involving billionaire Palm Beach neighbors that are blowing up right now — those of Kraft and the convicted teen-sex-abuser Jeffrey Epstein. In different ways, both men exploited women who were very young and very poor — and whom they considered disposable.

These women were brought to an alien land halfway across the world from home and then pressured into prostitution with no days off and “minimal” hygiene. They lived in spartan quarters right there on the premises, so they can work until all hours of the night, having sex with 1,500 men a year.

These modern-day sex slaves worked for a clientele that were the supposed pillars of the affluent zip codes in and around Palm Beach

Epstein’s teen-sex-abuse equivalent of shooting a man on Fifth Avenue and getting away with it was clearly made possible by his many powerful friends — including not just Trump but also former president Bill Clinton, a frequent flyer on Epstein’s plane that was dubbed (no, you can’t make these things up) “the Lolita Express.” His lawyers who negotiated his cushy deal included Alan Dershowitz (now also accused of Epstein-related sexual shenanigans) and Kenneth Starr. Their work only proved that there are two systems of justice in America — one for the 1 Percent and another for the rest of us.

Like his friend Epstein, Trump got away with stunning sexual misconduct on the road to the White House — caught on tape bragging about groping women’s private parts and also accused of various sexual misconduct by 22 women. Only later did we learn that Trump’s fixer and now convicted felon Michael Cohen had engineered large payoffs to two women to keep their stories of extramarital affairs with Trump out of the media right before Election Day.

in addition to economic justice, America needs more justice, period. It’s not just revenge to say that Robert Kraft, Jeffrey Epstein. and — yes, Donald Trump — need to pay a price for what they’ve done. In the end, we won’t have the America we need until we listen to the women they abused and enslaved, restore their humanity, and help set them free.

Fake National Emergency

16 states, ACLU, CREW, Public Citizen and numerous border land owners have filed lawsuits against the Border Wall… Democrats and Republicans are working to overturn the declaration of a national emergency since 1. Trump himself said he did NOT have to declare a national emergency but wanted to expedite payment for the wall since Congress said NO and he went golfing after his declaration. We DO have national emergencies including lack of HOUSING for seniors and others, gun violence, climate change, far right domestic terrorism and lack of leadership and other national security threats discussed by McCabe (book Threat)….

Trump encourages acts of violence against journalists and Democrats

A man who can summon sudden fury for a sketch he doesn’t like on SNL somehow remains demure and sympathetic when addressing a wannabe terrorist when the wannabe terrorist is a white nationalist who was planning a civil war “if trump impeached.”

Trump’s spokesperson followed up by insisting that Trump has never encouraged violence against journalists. This is a lie. And it’s a lie that sends a dangerous message: the belief that Trump — and, by the transitive property, his fans — can get away with things we’ve seen with our own eyes.

Trump literally applauded a Republican who attacked a journalist. His dozens of tweets calling the press his enemy that persist even after a newsroom was shot up and the Trump fan with the Trumpiest van literally sent bombs to dozens of Trump targets, including CNN. And Trump’s rage at the press is never as contained as it was for the Coast Guard lieutenant who wanted to kill everyone.

Trump is a human dog whistle…his fans love his winks, mixed messages, secret signals.

Trump knows he can’t explicitly call for violence just as he can’t use actual racial slurs. But he also knows that his mixed messages send a clear message to his fans. And that message is that violence may be necessary, so stay tuned.

A GIRL’S FIRST LOVE

My name is CeliaSue Hecht. I am a published writer/editor and publicist. My work has been featured in O, E, Parents, In Style and other magazines and newspapers including Reno Gazette Journal, Las Vegas Review Journal, Nevada Appeal, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Boston Globe and more. I have also written four chapters in an upcoming book WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HIPPIES/60’s Values in the 21st Century  McFarland Press by Stewart Rogers.

I’ve written the Coming of Age screenplay A GIRL’S FIRST LOVE that I’d like to send to you.

A GIRL’S FIRST LOVE is a coming of age story of how American girls typically learn about sex. It takes place in the 60’s and 80’s in a New York City suburb and Pennsylvania Dutch country. RoseAnne Rossi’s biological clock is ticking and her parents are on her nerves. Why isn’t she married and having babies like her younger sister Ginny? She is 29 in 1984 and one night she enters her parents bedroom only to find her parents having sex. This shock leads to her seeing a shrink, Dr. Blum. During therapy sessions, she has flashbacks about a pivotal summer when she was 13, secretly playing with dolls and wanting to be Annette Funicello, with beach parties in California and a boyfriend like Frankie Avalon.

She has fond memories of adventures with the neighborhood girls before they became involved with a gang of tough girls. They watch a cat give birth. Her mother gives her ‘the talk’ about the birds and the bees. The girls are warned about peeping toms, perverts on the bike path and experience street harassment by boys.

Rosie and her family spend the summer at a resort in Pennsylvania Amish country and she experiences having a boyfriend for the first time. First kiss. First love. First sexual encounter. During therapy, she also remembers that a once beloved teacher had been inappropriately touchy feely with her. After she got home, she finds out that he had done the same with other girls in the neighborhood.

Rosie’s dilemma is to tell or not to tell her parents. This secret unravels further when several other girls remember being violated and their pain, humiliation, and feelings of powerlessness. They decide to do something about the neighborhood teacher.

Facing her fears, Rosie finally decides to move to southern California, a lifelong dream. She seeks her life’s work and eventually meets an inspiring mentor, teacher and coach who encourages her to go for her dreams. Empowered, Rosie completes college and becomes a newspaper reporter.

The plot will appeal to a large audience of Me Too sexual abuse survivors, Baby Boomers, Hippies, and women who have experienced and been able to overcome their childhood traumas and succeed in life.
